CT UK Capital and Income Investment Trust:

Recognised for 30 consecutive years of dividend payment increases by the AIC.

AIC Dividend Hero

This year marks 30 consecutive years of dividend payment increases for CT UK Capital and Income Investment Trust – an AIC dividend hero.

The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) award dividend hero status to investment companies that have been able to increase their annual dividends for 20 years in a row.

The Trust has increased its dividend every year since its launch in 1992.

A feature of investment trusts is that they can hold back up to 15% of the income received when performance is particularly strong, enabling them to draw from this when income is leaner, or even falls, in other years in order to boost the dividend paid.  This benefit enables investment companies to smooth dividend payments over time and pay consistently rising dividends.

There is no guarantee that dividends will continue to grow.

Julian Cane
Director, Portfolio Manager

“Since our launch as a company in 1992, we have increased the dividend each and every year by a compound rate that is well above the rate of inflation. We are very aware and proud of our record of having increased the dividend each year since launch, and it is very much our intention to continue to extend this record.”

Julian Cane, Fund Manager

In this short video Fund Manager, Julian Cane, discusses his thoughts on reaching this 30-year milestone, what consistent dividend growth demonstrates about an investment trust, as well as his thoughts on the opportunities within UK equities and his outlook for the UK stock market.

Here’s how we help you invest in the things that really matter

We’re helping you make a bigger impact in your world and the wider world — because what matters to you, matters to us.

Let's talk about risk

The value of your investments and any income from them can go down as well as up and you may not get back the original amount invested. Investments which are concentrated in a specific sector or country may result in less diversification and hence more volatility in investment values. Gearing is used for investment purposes to obtain, increase or reduce exposure to an asset, index or investment. The use of gearing can enhance returns to investors in a rising market, but if the market falls the losses may be greater.
