Antonio Botija is Head of Origination and Investments within the Infrastructure Investments team with responsibility for the origination, sourcing and execution of investments for the firm’s global infrastructure portfolios, including our European Sustainable Infrastructure strategy.

He has 19 years’ experience in infrastructure investment and investment banking. Antonio joined Columbia Threadneedle from Hastings Funds Management, where he was an investment director leading the origination and execution on investment opportunities in the European infrastructure market, in addition to acting as the Interim Head of Equity Investments for the Hastings US office in 2017. Prior to that, Antonio spent five years at Infracapital Partners, the European infrastructure asset management division of M&G Investments, where he completed a significant number of acquisitions in different European countries. Additional experience includes positions at UBS’s Infrastructure Investment Banking team in London covering infrastructure and transport, and at Alpha Corporate, a Spanish subsidiary of Deloitte, executing M&A transactions across a range of sectors.

Antonio holds a BSc degree in Law and a BSc degree in Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, ICADE in Spain, and an MBA from INSEAD (France / Singapore). He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
