EMEA senior leadership comprises the following executives, who are
members of the Business Management Committee, our primary
Senior management, EMEA
Michelle joined in 2017 as Chief Executive Officer, EMEA and CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management Limited. Michelle is also a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Ameriprise Financial. Columbia Threadneedle is the global asset management group of Ameriprise Financial, Inc (NYSE:AMP), a leading US-based financial services provider.
Neil joined in 2016 and as Head of Technology, EMEA. He has overall responsibility for all IT services including front and middle office, sales and distribution and external IT providers.
Darrel is responsible for day-to-day management of the Assurance and Governance team, design and implementation of the Compliance Programme, co-ordinating and preparing the business for global regulatory risk assessments and examinations, as well as the development and implementation of the firm’s monitoring & reporting programme. He joined the company in 2011.
Mark joined in November 2010 and took over as the company’s Chief Investment Officer in January 2011. In this role, he is responsible for continuing Columbia Threadneedle’s strong performance track record across all asset classes.
Gary is Head of Wholesale Distribution, EMEA and Latin American. He joined the company as Head of UK Retail Sales in 2006 and became Head of Wholesale Distribution in April 2013. He is responsible for promoting the company’s range of funds within the EMEA wholesale market.
William joined Threadneedle Asset Management Limited at the company’s inception in 1994. In July 2016 he became Head of Equities, EMEA with overall responsibility for the company’s EMEA-based equity teams. William is also Head of Global Equities, a role he has held since 2011, and is the lead manager of the Threadneedle Global Select Fund and a number of institutional mandates. Prior to this William was Head of European Equities from 1994 to 2011, overseeing a period of very strong performance and significant growth in assets.
Julie Griffiths joined the company in 2010 and is currently Head of Investment Risk. In this role she is responsible for overseeing the independent investment risk management process for Columbia Threadneedle’s portfolios. She is also a member of the company’s retail fund pricing and Risk and Controls committees.
Alison joined the firm in January 2009 and co leads the EMEA Legal team. The Legal team supports the firm’s strategic initiatives and provides legal support in a range of areas and Alison’s main area of focus is in relation to contentious matters. Since 2014 Alison has also been the joint Chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Group.
Alison joined Columbia Threadneedle in July 2010 and is responsible for media relations, internal communication, corporate reputation and issues management, community engagement and sponsorship and events. Alison is also Chair of the Columbia Threadneedle Foundation.
Dominik is Head of Institutional Distribution for EMEA and Latin America. He joined the company in 2010 as Head of European Distribution. Dominik has extensive experience in the investment management industry and, prior to joining Columbia Threadneedle, spent nine years at Pioneer Investments as Managing Director and a member of the Global Management Committee.
Jo joined in 2016 as HR Business Partner supporting the Investments group. In October 2016, she assumed the role of Lead HR Business Partner EMEA, with responsibility for the EMEA HRBP team, HR business partnership specifically to Distribution, Marketing and Investments as well as overall HR leadership support across the EMEA region. Jo has 16 years HR experience working in financial and professional services organisations and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Andrew is Global Head of Insurance at Columbia Threadneedle Investments with responsibility for our strategic insurance client relationships across the EMEA, US and Asia Pacific regions. This includes our largest clients in the UK, as well as the extensive relationship with the Ameriprise group’s insurance business, RiverSource, in the US.
Peter joined the company in 2004 as Head of Management Information. In this role he was responsible for developing and improving financial management information supporting decision making in the business. In 2011 he became Head of Finance with responsibility for financial, accounting, tax and treasury affairs.
Laura is responsible for trade settlement, portfolio events, valuations, share class pricing, investment accounting, transfer agency and investor services. Laura joined the company in 2004 and has worked in a number of operational oversight areas including transfer agency, investment operations, custody and derivatives covering UK regulated funds, SICAVs and a range of segregated funds.
John is Head of UK Real Estate for Columbia Threadneedle’s real estate investment management business. On the formation of Threadneedle Property Investments in the early 1994, John was appointed Head of Property Operations and later became the Company’s Finance Director. John’s role has since developed to include business strategy, corporate and fund finance, product development and property/investment management oversight, concluding in his promotion to Head of UK Real Estate in March 2018.
